With the wedding almost a month away there are a lot of small decisions that still need to be made. One of these is the bridal party order. When I think about all my bridesmaids it is hard to put them in order of importance. I have 6 bridesmaids and all of them have been or are becoming a major part of my life.
I have two sisters, which I am very close to so therefore I have a matron of honor and a maid of honor. I also have a 2 future sister in laws and also 2 of my closest friends from over the years. My fiancé on the other hand has one brother, which is his best man, a future brother in law, 3 close friends and a cousin.
We decided that instead of putting everyone in order of importance (exception being the maid/matron of honor and best man that we would do our bridal party by height. We felt everyone is of equal importance to us and we did not want to hurt anyone’s feelings.
Our bridal party order goes from the groomsmen tallest to shortest and the bridesmaids are lined up accordingly.
If you are trying to choose the order of your bridal party there are many things to consider:
1. You can do it by height - short to tall or vice versa
2. You can do it in order of importance - family vs. friends (considering height or not)
3. You can do it in order of importance not considering family or friends or height
As the bride it is all up to you! Good Luck!!!
We are now 40 days away from the big event! We got our invitations out last Tuesday and we are now starting to get the RSVP’s back. The RSVP’s are one of the most important parts of the wedding process. I feel like it is Christmas every time I open a reply!
Once we know how many people are coming we can plan our budget out and get a feel for the whole day! So far we have only gotten five responses back but I have a feeling we are going to get a bunch of them over the next week. July 11th is the cut off day for people to mail back their RSVP’s, which is also my bachelorette party!
The other details that are still a work in progress include the wedding programs, the menu cards and the place setting name cards. Hopefully we will get them done by the end of the week. Other then that we have the flowers picked out, we have the all the major vendors locked into place and all the small details are getting taken care of.
One thing that my fiancé and I still need to do is choose all the music for the reception. Our DJ’s website has all the tools we need. We can listen to music and then check to have the song played, not have it played or play only if there is time.
To help save on time my fiancé and I have decided to ask some of our close family and friends for music suggestions. This helps in two ways - first of all it involves other people and makes them feel included and the second thing it does is cut down the work for us.
If you have not chosen your music for your reception I encourage you to think about asking other people for help on song choices!
Good luck fellow brides! I look forward to keeping you updated on all the next up coming events!
So, my wedding is right around the corner (6 weeks to be exact) and the small details are starting to come in to play. One of the elements I have been contemplating is whether to rent a photo booth or not. I think that it would be a lot of fun to rent one and I know that everyone would enjoy it! I just don’t know if it is the right thing for my wedding.
When looking into Portland photo booth rentals I came across a great company called Portland Photobooth Services. They specialize in photo booth rentals for any occasion and they are located in Portland! Since my wedding is 6 weeks away, I need to book them now if I am serious about getting a photo booth.
After weighing out the pros and cons I have decided to rent a photobooth. I think that having a photo booth will make my wedding memorable and I think the photos I take with my guests are a great party favor! If you are interested in learning more about Portland photobooth services you should check out their website. It is full of good information to help you make the right decision for your special event.
So we are about 7 weeks away from the big day! I just had my bridal shower yesterday and it was so much fun! The first big event of many to come! My bridal shower was at my mom’s house on her deck. There were 30 of my favorite ladies who were able to make it! I always love being the center of attention!
The theme for my shower had a lot to do with my wedding. There were various bouquets of flowers that were made in my wedding colors - red and lime green. I love wine and cheese combinations and there were plenty of both. I also love salad rolls and sushi and both were at my shower! Along with plenty of fruits, nuts and veggies there was then enough food for all!
We played 3 games in which all were fun in there own way! The first game was called “Celebrity Couples” the host had 15 pictures of different couples and everyone at the shower had to guess and write down the first and last name of each couple. The second game was everyone at the shower had to write down experiences they have had with me and I had to guess who wrote which card. It was such a blast from the past! The third game was by far my favorite - the host videotaped my fiancé answering a bunch of different questions about him. All of the guests had to guess if I would know the answer to the questions he was asked or if I would not. The host would ask me the question first then play his response. Wow - was that creative! It was fun to watch my fiancé on the big screen! He could not be more adorable!
