With our wedding 26 days away the checklist seems to be never ending. I have to admit every time we get something accomplished it does feel good to cross it off - but there seems to be so much to do and the wedding is right around the corner.
I think I am currently in a state of shock as the big day gets closer and closer. This week we have our last and final meeting with the DJ before the rehearsal. We also have are first session of couple counseling and to top it off we have family coming to stay with us in the middle of it all.
I had my last bridal dress fitting and my dress fits perfect! All of my accessories are ready to go along with my fabulous dress!
I am pleased to say that my bridesmaid dresses are right on track - thanks to an amazing mom! One of my bridesmaids has a final fitting tonight and after she has her final fitting there are only a few more girls that need there final fittings and then the girl’s dresses are done!
This weekend is a pretty big weekend for me as well! On Thursday I have my trial airbrush tan so that I will have a good idea of what my tan will look like on my wedding day. Along with that I have my trial makeup run on Saturday morning and then Saturday night is my big bachelorette night!
With so much going on I will be sure to keep you posted how everything goes!
Wow - I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. My wedding is two months away and I cannot believe the big day is almost here! I recently sat down and made a checklist of all the tasks that are left. To my surprise there are only 30 things on my list. But all 30 things are going to take time and have to be done soon!
One of the tasks that are coming right up is my first dress fitting! I bought my dress about a year ago and I have not tried it on in a while. I will say that I have lost 5 lbs and at least 3 inches in my waist
I have been working really hard and trying to eat healthy and I am finally seeing some results. Along with my dress fitting I need to pick out the lingerie I am going to be wearing the day of the wedding.
I am still working on the flower designs and I still need to sep up an appointment with my florist to do the final mockups before the big day. I also need to get my bridesmaids gifts and set an appointment to have the gifts made.
My fiancé still has to pick out his tux and be fitted for it. Also all of his groomsmen still need to be fitted and all of the fathers as well!
These are just a few of things right off the top of my head. I will keep you posted as I get more accomplished.
I went to a Bridal Show on Saturday. It was held at the Convention Center in downtown Portland. It was a very busy show. When you first walk in there are tons of booths to choose from all lined up. From wedding cake tastings to photography everyone that plays a role in weddings is there. I had a really good time and I learned a lot of information about all different vendors. I was one of the first people in to the show and the nice part about that was there were hardly any lines to wait in. I was able to have full conversations with all of the vendors of my choice. I was also able to try many different kinds of cakes, chocolate covered strawberries and even cheesecakes!
The best part about the event is the fashion show. They have all different shapes and sizes of girls modeling all of the latest and greatest wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and tuxedos. All of the models walk down the catwalk to all different types of music and props. It is really neat to see all of the girls in the dresses and gives all the brides lots of good ideas for when they go to look at dresses. In the show there is different scenes and each scene has its own theme and vendors.
The other thing that I love about the Bridal Show is all of the prizes you can sign up to win as a new bride and all of the free goodies you get to take away from the show. At each booth you either get a business card, a bridal magazine or some form of information about each vendor. This is great information to have when you are planning a wedding!
If you are engaged to get married I reccomend you check out a Bridal Show near you!
There are so many choices when it comes to bridal gowns! How do you even know where to start? When it comes to your wedding gown it is one of the most important decisions you will make for your big day!
The first thing to remember is that there are so many styles of gowns to choose from and if one style does not flatter your figure then there are always other styles that will! No matter what shape or size you are your perfect gown is out there waiting for you to find it!
The next thing to remember is to have your budget planned out before you start going wedding dress shopping. Once you know how much money you have to spend on your dress, you do not have to waste your time trying on dresses that you can not afford. Always stick to your budget when trying on dresses and then you will not have the problem of falling in love with a dress you have to leave at the store!
The color of the dress is another factor. When ever you are trying on dresses make sure to try on every color. I know that every girl dreams of a white wedding dress but you would be surprised by how good diamond white and ivory look on some people!
Good luck in finding the perfect dress! I hope this gets you off to a good start!
