With our wedding 26 days away the checklist seems to be never ending. I have to admit every time we get something accomplished it does feel good to cross it off - but there seems to be so much to do and the wedding is right around the corner.
I think I am currently in a state of shock as the big day gets closer and closer. This week we have our last and final meeting with the DJ before the rehearsal. We also have are first session of couple counseling and to top it off we have family coming to stay with us in the middle of it all.
I had my last bridal dress fitting and my dress fits perfect! All of my accessories are ready to go along with my fabulous dress!
I am pleased to say that my bridesmaid dresses are right on track - thanks to an amazing mom! One of my bridesmaids has a final fitting tonight and after she has her final fitting there are only a few more girls that need there final fittings and then the girl’s dresses are done!
This weekend is a pretty big weekend for me as well! On Thursday I have my trial airbrush tan so that I will have a good idea of what my tan will look like on my wedding day. Along with that I have my trial makeup run on Saturday morning and then Saturday night is my big bachelorette night!
With so much going on I will be sure to keep you posted how everything goes!
Wow - I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. My wedding is two months away and I cannot believe the big day is almost here! I recently sat down and made a checklist of all the tasks that are left. To my surprise there are only 30 things on my list. But all 30 things are going to take time and have to be done soon!
One of the tasks that are coming right up is my first dress fitting! I bought my dress about a year ago and I have not tried it on in a while. I will say that I have lost 5 lbs and at least 3 inches in my waist
I have been working really hard and trying to eat healthy and I am finally seeing some results. Along with my dress fitting I need to pick out the lingerie I am going to be wearing the day of the wedding.
I am still working on the flower designs and I still need to sep up an appointment with my florist to do the final mockups before the big day. I also need to get my bridesmaids gifts and set an appointment to have the gifts made.
My fiancé still has to pick out his tux and be fitted for it. Also all of his groomsmen still need to be fitted and all of the fathers as well!
These are just a few of things right off the top of my head. I will keep you posted as I get more accomplished.
So you have chosen your wedding venue, you have picked out your wedding colors and now it is time to find the perfect bridesmaid dresses. Over the years I have been in various weddings. The first wedding I was in I had to buy this hideous purple dress with puffy sleeves. Now don’t get me wrong I want to support the bride and it is her special day but this dress was not only ugly but expensive! I am sure you can all relate to an experience like this. The good news is I did re-wear the dress one other time but it was for a Halloween costume!
After that bridesmaid experience I made a promise to myself that one day when I got married I would have very cute and I mean “sexy” bridesmaid dresses. The type that you can wear over and over again, every time you get dressed up for a night out on the town. Now this may sound like common sense but the bridesmaid dresses I have seen made especially made for bridesmaids have not been that cute! They are all so boring and they all look like a bridesmaid dress you have seen in a wedding before!
For my experience I had to step outside of the box when it came to bridesmaid dresses. I knew that I wanted them all the same color and the exact same style. I have seen many wedding photos of girls with different colored dresses and styles and I did not like the way it looked. I wanted my wedding to be very uniform and that means all the same color and style of dresses.
Instead of going with the traditional options of dresses I chose a sexy prom dress that was just right for the sophistication I was after. It is unlike any bridesmaid dress I have seen and believe me my bridesmaids will be able to wear this dress over and over again. I love it so much I am going to get one for myself! It is long and all sequins which gives it a wet look. It has a red bow around the waist and a low back where the bow ties above the end of the back line. It is a Sherry Hill Dress, a famous New York designer for pageants and other special occasions. I got it at Dee’s Studio in Gresham, Oregon. They have a great selection for everything you are after!
Next time you are out looking for bridesmaid dresses don’t be afraid to step outside of the usually choices, your bridesmaids will thank you for it!
