Well it is official I am a married women! I cannot believe that my big day has already happened! Let me tell you it was a roller coaster ride! Of course the night before the wedding I was running around making sure that all the details were in place. When I was done with all the running around it was time to go to bed. I had both of my sisters stay the night with me and I sent my fiancé away to stay at a friend’s house. I only slept for about four hours… probably had to do with all the excitement that was going on. I always have this problem especially when I am really excited about something - which my wedding day defiantly counts!
I want everyone to know that my wedding day was by far the best day of my life! The day does go by way to fast and I wish I could replay it over and over again! My advice to any future brides out there would be to take the time to enjoy as much as you can. Remember to relax the day of your wedding and enjoy every second. No matter what you do on your wedding day it is going to go by like a blink of an eye! My day was so special because of all the love and support I had from family and friends. Remember to enjoy every aspect of your special day.
Stay tuned for all the details of the big day that will be in my next post
DAYS AWAY!!!! Wow- I know it has been a little while since I have written and I am sure you all know why. I have been in a wedding whirlwind! Lets start with the last time I wrote. The wedding was 4 days a way and life was already getting really crazy. My husband and I (I love the way that sounds!) had a lot of family and friends in town and everybody was getting excited for the big day.
Well I have to say that the 3 days leading up to the wedding were by far the craziest days of my life. On the Wednesday before the wedding all of my family got into town. My mother had a small wedding ceremony that night at her house - she got married the same week as we did which I thought was pretty cool. Since it was her second marriage she did not want to have a big wedding. Wednesday started the festivities that led up to the big day.
On Thursday was my now husbands bachelor party. Now I did not by any means agree that he should have the bachelor party so close to the wedding but because of the way it worked out with his friends coming into town that was what worked best for everyone. I went out with my two sisters that night so that I was distracted from thinking about the party.
Unfortunately this tactic only worked for about half the night. Needless to say the bachelor party got a little out of hand and it ended earlier then expected because of some major drama. I wont go into all of that because it will just stress future brides out
I will say the whole party was supposed to stay the night in a suite downtown but because of their rowdiness this did not end up being the case.
Friday was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. We did our rehearsal at 3:00pm and everything went pretty smooth. After the rehearsal it was time to eat. We had our dinner at a local bar and grill and ended up renting out the entire upstairs for our event. Everything went really well at the rehearsal and tomorrow was the big day!
WOW - 4 days - I am so excited! There are so many things going on in the next couple of days! I know you won’t believe this but my mom is getting married tomorrow. It will just be a small ceremony, it is her second marriage so she wanted to keep it small and have just immediate family there. Then on Thursday my mom, sisters and I are going first thing in the morning for final wedding manicures and pedicures.
After our manicures and pedicures are done I am off to get my airbrush tan and then to lunch with my sisters. Thursday night we are having a birthday dinner for my younger sister and also for myself (yes my birthday was last Friday
if you can believe that as well.
Friday is the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. We had to start the rehearsal at 3:00pm because that was the only time we could reserve the space. We are having the dinner at a little bar and grill - which is only 5 minutes away from the rehearsal site.
Then Saturday is the big day! It is amazing how fast time fly’s! I cannot wait for the special day – it will be a day I will never forget!
I know it has been a little while since I wrote…trust me I have been very busy! My bachelorette party was July 11th and today is the 21st so I am a little behind and less then 2 weeks away from my wedding!
My bachelorette party was so much fun! We ended up having a pretty good turn out - 12 people for happy hour and 14 people for dinner. We started the night at The Nines they have a roof top bar called Departure and we went for happy hour from 4-6pm on our private couch.
After we enjoyed happy hour we went to the room to open some presents and all get better acquainted. After opening up a variety of fun gifts - that would take me through the night- we headed to Henry’s Tavern for dinner.
The food was awesome and everyone had a great dinner. After dinner we lost some people that had to take off for various reasons. As we were walking out of Henry’s we met a table of guys that were more then happy to buy us a few round of shots for the special occasion!
The reaming “party girls” - props to Trish, Kim, Misty, Nicole, Laura and Alison - all headed to a martini bar in the Pearl called Vault. This is where I had to start knocking out all of my challenges as the bachelorette. My sister gave me a challenge book that had 10 things I had to accomplish by the end of the night.
The list is below: (Read at your own risk)
1. Kiss a bald guy on the forehead
2. Have 3 guys write down there “size” if you know what I mean
3. Find a divorced guy and ask him 3 tips on - what not to do!
4. Find a condom and blow it up
5. Stand up on a chair in a crowded bar and scream - this is your last night being single - because you are getting married.
6. Make out with a beer bottle and pretend it is something - that it is not…
7. Go to the men’s bathroom for 2 minutes…
8. Identify the hottest man in the room (by way of all girls in party) and seduce him until he buys you a drink.
9. Find a guy with white socks and give him a kiss.
10. With the help of your ladies make a list of bad habits - your fiancé needs to avoid.
Needless to say I did accomplish them all! After we had a few drinks at the Vault – we all jumped in a stretch Hummer and headed to our final destination Candy. Candy is a dance club that was pretty hopping that night.
All of the ladies arrived back to the hotel room by 3am – It was one crazy night…The rest of the details are top secret!
