The Perfect Decorations

How do you come up with the perfect decorations for a wedding? Well if you are on top of your planning, which all brides should be, you have already chosen your colors. Once you have your colors picked out your decorations should be created around that color scheme.

If you do not have your colors picked out you need to do that before moving forward. Since most of you have your colors picked out, think about why you picked those colors and how they represent you and your special day. For example my wedding colors are black and white. When I think of black and white I think of a formal wedding representing a black tie affair.

Therefore all of my decorations are based off of the theme of a black tie affair. My decorations include tuxedo chocolate covered strawberries, a chocolate fountain, a black grand piano, red roses, tall formal vases and lots of candles. Think about how your colors and theme can be expressed through decorations and you should have a solid list of ideas.

A great place to look at dozens of pictures is the knot. When you register there you can view thousands of pictures for some great wedding ideas. Happy planning!

A Destination Wedding

I know what you are thinking…you are wondering where this post is going. Don’t worry after all of the work we have put into planning the wedding I am not about to change locations. Don’t get me wrong a destination wedding always crosses a brides mind at least once when she first is putting ideas together about a wedding. Maybe it is because it sounds exotic and exciting. We defiantly thought about it and it was just not the right choice for us. We were happy to know that if we did change our mind we had already booked a great destination wedding photographer.

When I did think about a destination wedding I knew there were pros and cons to having one. The pros of course being the excitement of the whole trip, having family and friends join you form a far and of course the breath taking photos from an exotic location. But then I got to thinking about the cons! You know the cost for everyone to fly to your destination, the stress of getting everyone to one location safe and the stress of planning a wedding in an environment you are not very familiar with. When I looked at the pros and cons I knew what would be the right decision. If a destination wedding is something you are considering make sure to do your homework ☺

The wedding is six months away…

I cannot believe that my wedding is six months away! Time is flying by and I am starting to feel a little more stress. I feel like I have been to all the bridal show’s possible and I have fully educated myself on the many options available as a bride. I am scheduled to have a meeting with the lady doing my flowers at the end of this month and I could not be more excited. I registered at the knot and I love all the options I have as a bride on the knot. I can browse through thousands of wedding specific pictures, perfect for a planning bride. Have you ever tried to look on the Internet for wedding pictures? It can be pretty frustrating.  On the knot I have looked at pictures from wedding centerpiece ideas to the perfect ceremony pictures. I love to look at pictures because they help give me ideas and inspirations for my special day. The things left on my do list include flowers, cakes, and wedding decorations. You may think that does not sound like a lot, but trust me it is! I will keep you posted on how the planning goes as the day gets closer and closer…

The Perfect Groomsmen Gifts

The wedding is six months away and my fiancé is starting to think about groomsmen gift ideas. He has six groomsmen ranging from his older brother as his best man to many of his best friends he has known his whole life. My fiancé wanted to make sure that all of his groomsmen gifts were personalized and unique to fit each individual.  He was having a hard time finding just the right gift because each groomsman likes different things. That is why he knew he had found the perfect gift when he came across personalized pub signs. One thing all of his groomsmen have in common is they all enjoy good spirits while they watch their favorite sports on their big screens. Each groomsman has his own unique hobby from motorcycles to baseball and each pub sign can be designed with each groomsman’s favorite hobby or drink in mind.

My fiancé is so pleased with his choice that he is going to create his own pub sign as well so that he has one for himself as a keepsake. He loves to play pool so he chose a pub sign with a pool table on it featuring his name as the owner of the billiards room.  He plans on putting it up on the wall next to our pool table so everyone will know he is THE BOSS when it comes to pool!
