The Perfect Wedding Videographer

My fiancé and I are about 6 months to the big date. We have all of our major vendors picked out and we are ready to rock. The latest thing that we made a choice on was our wedding videographer. We were looking for the perfect studio to capture our Portland Wedding Video. Since we are getting married in Portland we wanted to find a videographer that was close and also offered the best videos. We came across Ambient Sky and both my fiancé and I instantly fell in love with their work! Their wedding videos offer the creative edge my fiancé and I were looking for. We both decided right away that they would be our first choice.

The next step was getting in contact with them and making an appointment to see more of their work. My fiancé and I were blown away by their quality of work at our appointment. We checked everywhere and could not find any other videographers that even came close to their unique creativity, quality and style. My fiancé and I could not be more excited about our wedding video and cannot wait to see the final product. I will be sure to share it with all of you once we get it!

The Honeymoon

OK, so I know that the wedding is still seven months away but it is never too early to start planning the honeymoon. My fiancé and I decided the perfect place for us to go is Maui. There were many reasons we came to this conclusion. For starters our wedding is in August and we want to take our honeymoon right after the wedding. You have to be careful where you go in August because that is prime time hurricane season in some areas. For example we were looking into Jamaica and we had to toss that out because we did not want to risk hurricane season. We looked into cruises and again the summer time is not the best time of the year to go on a cruise. Especially to the Caribbean, the only cruises we could find were to Alaska and we wanted somewhere warm and tropical for our honeymoon, not cold!

Your honeymoon is up to you but be sure to research all your options before deciding on the perfect place. If you are overwhelmed and clueless on where to start, go slow by first deciding the climate you are looking for. Once you know what climate you are after you can start making a list of all the places that match that criteria. After that go through the list one by one and look at location, cost, weather, availability etc.

I hope this list will get you off on the right foot of your honeymoon planning!

The all important hair style

Now I know my wedding is not until August but believe me it is right around the corner! Seven months will go by all to quickly so I am starting my hair preparation now. I know for my hair I want it to be blond with a little brown weaved through it just so that it is not platinum. I also know that I ever since my fiancé proposed I have wanted it to be long for the wedding. I have been growing it out since last April and it is longer and in better condition then I have ever seen it in. When I look online at all the different wedding hairstyles I have gathered different ideas for how it will be on my wedding day. I have not decided on the perfect hair due yet but I have a pretty good idea of how it will look.

I want it all down with long barrel curls, I might have a little of it pulled up in the front but I have not decided for sure. Currently I am going through the decision on bangs or no bangs. I started wearing bangs about 6 months ago and I have enjoyed them. Tonight I am going to get my hair done and I am going to try the side swept bang to see if I like that more then blunt bangs. By next time I get my hair done again which will be 2 months I have to decide if I want to grow them out or keep them for the wedding.

I will keep you all posted…Until next time brides ☺

The invite decision!

Well I did it; I finally got the right invitation picked out. It took many hours of looking through books, researching on the Internet and designing the invite to fit our style. I chose a newer style of invitation called the “pocket” layout. It is made to hold the reception card and response card in a pocket so that it is nestled nicely in the invitation. The theme for our wedding is “A Black Tie Affair” so everything at the wedding will be decorated around this theme. The invitations are of course black and white and are very elegant to fit the theme of our special occasion.  I suggest for wedding planning to start out by picking wedding colors and a theme, and then choosing everything around the colors and theme. Doing this will narrow down your searches and keep you from getting to overwhelmed.  Believe me, when you are wedding planning this is very important.

I also finally chose our save the date magnets. They again are based around the same theme.  They are a black and white photo of my fiancé and I all dressed up on the cruise the night he proposed to me.  The picture was taken after he officially purposed, so it was the perfect match for an engagement photo.
